Renovations in Nanaimo

From NanaimoHome base

The housing in Nanaimo

Nanaimo is where we are based, and its housing covers the full range: post-war bungalows through the older central neighbourhoods, split-levels and subdivisions from the 1970s and 1980s across the north end, and newer construction above the highway. Older homes here usually need kitchens, bathrooms, and building systems brought up to date rather than simply refinished.

Much of the older stock in Nanaimo has already been renovated once, so the surprise is usually what the earlier work left behind: a wall taken out with nothing put back above it, plumbing rerouted through a joist, a bathroom fan venting into the attic. Opening a 1960s wall in Harewood or Departure Bay is as much about undoing as building.

Common work in Nanaimo

  • Kitchens opened up in 1970s and 1980s split-levels
  • Bathrooms rebuilt in post-war bungalows
  • Plumbing and wiring brought up to date behind the finishes
  • Room-by-room renovations in the older central neighbourhoods

Services we bring to Nanaimo

Work we have done in Nanaimo

  • Kitchen after renovation: grey shaker cabinets, butcher-block counters and a new sink under the window

    Kitchen Refresh

A tired galley kitchen brought back into service: the worn wood-look counters and the dated sink replaced, and the cabinets finished in a darker colour.

  • Deck after restoration: freshly stained warm brown boards behind a black metal railing

    Deck Restoration

A weathered rear deck taken back to a usable surface: moss and algae cleared, the boards washed down, and a protective finish applied.
